Kampot is an increasingly popular tourist destination and the city has recently undergone improvements. Resorts, guesthouses and lovely hotels can be found in the towns of Kep & Kampot. In addition Sihanoukville attracts tourists with its relaxed beach atmosphere when compared to the more developed ones of Thailand.
Khmer is the most popular language used in Cambodia however, French & English are also widely used.
The local currency is the Cambodian Riel however, USD is the preferred currency and widely used. Throughout Cambodia ATM’s are found at most large cities and towns and dispense USD in addition to debit and credit cards being widely accepted.
Australian passport holders require a visa to enter into Cambodia and can be obtain on arrival, or obtained before arrival in the country of origin.
